4. Excel has better parking facilities
5. Excel has purpose built accomodation next door (Marriot and Ibis)
You assume:
Open water with open sky and open rain is good
That being new is good
Visitors to boat shows drive or fly
People who need to stay a night or two do not need to eat/live

Sod them.... go to Genoa. Biggest show in Europe, huge hall just on ribs up to 16 meters. Flight is not a lot more than getting the train and you get a seat, food is good, the weather is hot and it is the biggest show in Europe. If you want a winter show go to Dusseldorf!

I'll second Dusseldorf, huge show, good parking, hall devoted to diving, one to engines, one to chandlery etc... Takes all day to get round.

Wasn't that impressed with Genoa although the local food is great !

I must admit going to London to one of the boat shows would be good. Its only 50 miles. But using any sort of transport to get in to London is tiresome.

London Shows

In answer to Johns original question we will go to both.

Earls Court becasue we are exhibiting, Excel for boat shopping. Earls Court of course will be for 10 days, Excel for 1

You are all welcome on our stand at Earls Court, it was nice to meet a few Ribnetters at the Southampton Boat Show and put a few faces to names on here.

If it were totally my choice I would bin Excel and do only Ealrs Court.

National Boat Shows treat you like children and IMHO have no idea about the marine industry and what their members need.
I say members because most who exhibit are members of the BMF who run NBS.
NBS need a huge kick in the pants and IMHO EC is going to give them that or at the very least a nose bleed!
NBS need grass roots people on their team not just those who sell the million pound plus boats.

IMHO the EC show could have a major impact on ExCel this year.
There is a huge amount of chatter about it right across all the marine related forums.
I think there will be a huge number of people who go to EC this year.
For the market we are in this will have a big impact on our delaers not there but at ExCel.

If you go to EC you can pick up you hand held radio or GPS ready for Xmas etc and if you get it there you not going to buy at ExCel!
So, IMHO, any electronics dealer at EC could have a very happy Xmas!!!

Anyway off my soap box now!

Yes - a basic list on the ECBS website, but no supplementary info on companies.
