London Boat Shows
This winter we have two boat shows in London, one in December at Earls Court, and one in January at ExCel.
The actual "London Boat Show" is the one at ExCel of course, but the new "Earls Court Boat Show" is capitalising on 50 or so years of history of Earls Court being the home of the London Boat Show.
Collins Stewart London Boat Show
Whyte & Mackay Earls Court Boat Show
Which are you going to, and why?

I'll be going to Earls Court, it's easier to get to, and it's just around the corner from the greatest kebab shop in the uk, "the kebab kid".

There are now many pretenders to that throne, however if your are referring to Kebab Kid of 90 New King's Road, then I can confirm their excellence in Kebab making remains intact.

Neither, because I don't see why I have to pay to go in. I don't have to pay to go to a car dealership.
Why do RIBex charge?

Never thought of it that way.
Personally if it involves paying out £50 for me and my son to get entry and some food to look at a few overpriced RIBs and lots of non RIB stuff I would rather spend that 50 quid on fuel for the boat and have a spin round the Solent.
If I'm going to a show I prefer boat jumbles. Much more fun to be had looking through bins of real bargains.

What p?sses me right off is when they won't let you have a look around their boat they have bought to show off at the show!!! "By Appointment Only". You've just paid £12.00 to get in to the show and you are not allowed on the boats! What the f?ck is that all about.
I just stomp on now and they will have to throw me off if they don't wan't me on their decks.
p.s. and always remember that the salesman can't afford one either, however 'superior' he might think he is. Ug.

Yeh how does that work !
How do I book an appointment on a boat at a show.
And if I was that interested I would personally like a view somewhere a lot quieter than a boat show.

Sunseeker treated us exceptionally well at Southampton a few years ago. Considering they had the most expensive boat there they had a right to be snobbish if anyone has but they weren't.
I have always found that the more money someone has the more down to Earth they are. It's the pretentious gits pretending to be something they aren't that really annoys me.

I'm quite happy to pay to go to RIBEX.
But personally I wish it was on the mainland. Then I wouldn't have to pay for a couple of ferry fares.
