i don't know where this 75% of max HP is optimum came from, that is tosh IMO. the optimum is the max HP rating or as close to it as possible keeping weight limit in mind.

have you asked humber about the weight limit? i'm thinking they may have made a mistake as even a 2 stroke 75hp is going to stuggle to hit that.

i had a 5.6m with 100hp and it was a struggle to get on plane with 4 on it.
I agree with Dudris...in fact the whole Hull/power rating thing is very subjective and can be misleading....plenty of other threads have covered this, and the reasons why.

the sib i have now is brand new and does what is says on the tin the thing was i have another boat the same also brand new (boxed) but that one dont have any floor my intention was to just replace my current sib liner with the new one once the current one got run down but then had the thought hmm i wonder if i can get a floor for it, but yes i can just forget about it all now i have put the other liner up for sale. And will just use my current sib till the end of the year because i will not have the money till the end of july so by that time i might as well just wait till the low season and get a setup then

Unless you have the experience to know EXACTLY what your Boating needs are....and how to spec for it.The main reason for going new!..(pluss br prepared to pay through the Snoz for it!) Second hand can IMO often be a far better option, you can often buy a better class of RIB and if your careful in your purchase, the residual value can ..,,,and often is better!
Better a good well looked after used BMW than an all Dancing Brand Shiney new Dacia!..it's amazing how soon that shine wears off when you get it wrong!again IMO
