It looks terrifying! The crew seems to be on rebreathers when the cabin is flooded. Does it not have its own air system?

This is the thing of my nightmares, I wouldn't want to be trapped in it when my regulator fails

The men who will use this vessel are the things of nightmares - they will not be delivering good news and will sleep soundly on the return leg.

Two crew, six 'guests' but not much in the way of additional payload.

40kts isn't fast enough on the way in or particularly out. It probably needs another 20 kts judging by the majority of these fast insertion craft.

It's a single engine which is at odds with similar vessels.

All IMHO

Wow - this thing can dive to 30m.

Can see this thing being deployed to the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. Governments are about the only organisations that can afford this sort of research and development, and it ain't going to be flying the Royal Ensign when it's en-route.

Just don't get me started on Nimrod and £4b pi**ed up the wall, literally cut up on the tarmac once the decision was made to pull the plug.

They developed this and the previous version in a standard industrial unit across the road from where I work in Havant.
A prototype of the old version, a huge underwater catamaran, was under a cover in the car park for months.
There didn't appear to be much of an attempt to keep their work out of the public eye, including the website.

Strangely though, they moved out months ago, yet the company address on the website hasn't changed.

My interest comes from the fact that this is sort of a latest derivation of the WWII semi-submersible assault craft that I own, which Subsea were possibly going to borrow at one stage for a show, but it never happened.

Nasher.
