Margate slips

Hi
We're staying with friends near Margate this weekend and would like to launch locally if possible. What's the lowdown on the various slips please? We'd like to be out for a few hours so the HW +/- 1.5 hr jobs don't really work. I've seen a reference to the slip by the harbour only being useable for that sort of period - is that correct (boatlaunch puts it at 1/2 tidal )? Otherwise per Boatlaunch the only 1/2 tide slip seems to be Foreness Bay - anyone able to provide any advice on what sort of period that's actually useable?

(I realise fallbacks are to go along to Herne Bay, etc, but would like to check out workability of the Margate locations first)

Or is Ramsgate an option? Seems to be hard to get information on what's actually available there ( ok I haven't rung them up to ask direct yet, that's on the list for today!)

Thanks

Never launched there, just tied to the quay and used the pub.
Look at visitmyharbour.com

They have a bit more info.
