marine diesel

Hi
There was lots of negative talk about the change in tax on marine diesel for pleasure craft (inland or offshore) 12 months ago.
what is the current position? - how long have we got (before EEc impose some 'fall in line' type ruling?

Paul

One thing that has always confused me-maybe because I am easily confused..............
The UK is uniquely supposed to have an exemption from some EU-wide tax on marine diesel. If you buy it on the continong you pay petrol-like prices.
When I went to southern Ireland earlier this year it was as cheap as it is in the UK and not even red!!
How come?

Why worry, it doesn't involve hunting or killing vermin, so the government will leave it alone.................
