Marine VHF website...?

Does anybody know the URL of the website where you could look up information about boats via their radio licence information?

I can't seem to find it anywhere...

Try this site. I have not had a look but just copied it over from the assessors course information that I had whilst doing the course

On another Planet!

I should take the info on the "Mars" site with a pinch of (sea) salt.

I sold my boat "Aries II" (call sign MKQB6) last July, yet it still shows me as the owner, in spite of my notifying the Radio Communications Agency (or whatever it is now called) that I had sold it and giving details of the new owner.

I even contacted the agency by phone to protest about this some three months later, but ... I am STILL shown on the Mars site!

Regards,

Chris.

Yep, me too. Sold a year ago but still listed. Last updated 11-02-03.

Ours is accurately shown with no duplicate from previous owners. Given that our call sign has stayed with the boat, maybe this suggests that the new owners of your craft haven't purchased a licence, hence not triggering an update?

Yeh, but, given that I supplied the requested details of the new owner to them and I no longer get a licence reminder......

Given that unused call signs were never deleted or reused until recently (I think they have an expiry of 5 years now after lapsing) I guess that the records for UK call signs may not be purged from the MARS database until they are reallocated.

There is not much info on the searches. I thought it would be a good idea to look up the mmsi's of the local car ferries etc and programme them in but it is hard to figure out just what "Clansman" etc is the right one!
