Maritime Festival Rathlin Island

Great day out yesterday on Rathlin Island. I've never seen the Rathlin Sound so calm - really eerie! The eddies were causing mini whirlpools on the surface catching the boat when I slowed for a better look.
Lots of Redbays dropping in and out and of course the ragmen.
The craic on the island was brilliant. Only sorry I didn't make plans to stay over. Music, dancing and barbeques abounded.
Of course some of the black stuff too....

Nice photies, I was sore that I missed Rathlin. Who's the blonde wan with ye in the first pic? Lotta raggies OK, looks like one had his engine stuck in gear at the pontoon!

You were missed. Charles was expecting company.
The blonde is me! I've grown and dyed the hair - he was my bodyguard
The antics of that crew trying to get that thing out of gear was something to behold.
Some gin palaces there too including a floating hotel.

They were obviously coming from the festival. Wonder what happened to the engine?

And of course it wasn't me! I had actually launched in Glenarm and safely recovered by 6pm Saturday night.
