Max engine for a 4.7m Searider?

Anyone any idea what the max engine size is for a 4.7 Searider?

Engines

If you look on apolloduck theres a nice one in Ireland.

They seem to usually have 60hp but I have seen 70 on one.

If you email Avon they will send you the full spec, there are two models on has a deeper v hull and needs a long shaft engine.

I want a 4.7 hull but the dont seem to ever come up.

Chris

Thanks Chris.
well a 4.7 has come near me. Just rang the guy but he says he's been running a 85HP engine on it and the tubes are coming away from the transom. Was very interested until I hear that. Too much work for me to do.
Here's the link

Yeah I thought so. That wouldn't leave me to much money left to get an engine with. The word that I'm trying to find rhymes with clucking bell!

But it may not need retubed - could just need glued back together/tidied up?

Looking at the ebay photos the tubes look quite tidy and as Polwart said getting them re attached is probably not going to set you back more than a couple of hundred and I imagine you will get the boat for a good price because if this.

Might be worth a closer look. Not sure about the engine cant tell what it is from the pic. I am sure someone on here could tll you more about it.

i would think Eurocraft are the closest to you, but Henshaws, or Paul Tilley would also be able to put it back together if it is in reasonable condition.

The engine's not in the sale price, and I don't think I'd stick an 85hp on it anyway.
You've got me thinking lads!! Wife comes out of hospital with our newborn tomorrow. Wonder if I can get it in the back garden before she gets back?

The engine is a Force. Stay away-they're bloody awful old tech with very bad spares availability.

The boat however is a bargain as long as his description is accurate. The transom is highly unlikely to have been damaged by having an 85 on it-the boat is rated to 70.

Is it a 4.7? Difficult to tell from the pics, but the toob styling looks more like an older 5.4

Looking at it again, I think it is a SR4.7. It's like the one my mate had without the flooding hull (even better). Looks good value 'cos they're quite rare and you won't find a much better boat in that size. Shame there's no pics of the hull

I think it might only be rated to 70hp due to length-they look very much like a shortened 5.4-almost as is they come from the same mould?

This one's a Searider - even though it's advertised as an Adventure.

Yep - it's definitely got more SR5.4 than SR4.0 in its genes.

There were a couple of them down here in the early '90s, the centre console version with the Yam 90 and a 'Deluxe' with 'bonnet', windscreen, etc., fitted with a Jonny 70 IIRC. Both good boats, but the one with the Yam 90 was a rite larf
