Nice one. It looks a really good set up. I only get 55mph in mine, but havn't thought of raising the engine.
If your ever looking at coming down to the Humber or even Bridlington, give us a call.

Hi Lee, we`re running a 21 pitch lazer 2 at 5800rpm. We thought about changing the prop, but settled on the cheaper option of trying engine height first. Theres no reason why we shouldnt get nearer 60mph. I`m at Whitby in the morning to give it some welly!

You should see improvment in performance with it up a couple of bolt holes. as it was a little to low. i think you need a steeper pitch. if you do try a steeper pitch make shore she will pull to about 5,500 max as optimum power with your outboard will be about 5200rpm.

Extremly well! Was at Whitby last fri, but the seas were monstrous. According to the harbour master, no-one went out that day except us! He even left for the pub early! When the waves started to go over 3m we thought enough! Very good handling in a beam sea though. We tried a bit of the famous cod fishing, but it was next to impossible. So we settled for a test day instead. Acceleration is even better still, feels lighter at the back somehow. Couldnt get an accurate speed reading as the tide was doing around 18kn! Will try later if and when it gets flatter. Fuel consumption is much better, havnt worked it out yet, but when i filled it back up, i only spent 20.95! Thats more like it!
Must admit, was a bit worried about the sea state, but she handled it like a pro, and even went out after lunch just to to get another adrenalin hit!
Will do a bit more speed testing when we get the chance. But overall, much much better. Thanks for the advice!

Yee-Haa! Hope you both had a great weekend Jim, despite the gales,(hope you didnt lose the tent) it was fab with a bit of company! GL will post some video and pics when he gets the chance, and yes, rowing a pea-green boat to the mooring will most likely be included
Joakim, I`ve pm`d you. We put the engine up by 2 holes, but its now cavitating a bit in the turns, so will drop it by 1 hole when we get the chance. Will let you know how we get on.
