MCA SSR renewal changes

It looks like the MCA has, for our "comfort & convenience", updated the SSR website. I have just renewed the SSR for the SIB & what a palaver
You now have to log in to your account & "Claim" the vessels registered to you, even though they are there showing in your account. You have to upload proof of ID & a copy of the current SSR certificate. The website is flaky & it took several attempts to complete the process. If you have any boats on the SSR, I suggest you login now & "Claim" them, before they are due for renewal.
I rang up and spoke to a real person, asking why I had to prove that a vessel registered in my name & showing in my account was indeed mine. I got a load of waffle, which, reading between the lines, I'd say that they'd had some kind of computer meltdown & the existing records had either been lost or corrupted. This means that they couldn't tie the vessels to the owners, so they are relying on us to prove that the vessels are ours.
The RIB didn't show up in my account initially, I had to search the register, find the boat & submit a claim for my own boat, the application is now "Pending"
Any way it's done now.
Here's a link to the new website.

My renewal is in 1 year. I have logged in & my RIB is showing on my account so I didn't have to claim it. Probably will be a different story come renewal. The last 2 years I have gone to Netherlands & customs & the water police always want to see the SSR, so it has saved me from being caught out.

When you log in, what is the status of your boat? Mine was showing in the account page, but it said “pending” when I tried to renew, it said I had to claim it first.

My status says "REGISTERED"
The claim button is there with message "If no results are shown you should claim your vessel"

If you’re not going abroad, there’s no point tbh.
