Thanks Doug - post edited - interesting that the price increase was'nt mentioned - I wonder if this is a way of retailers justifying poor bulk order quotes??

I think there are a couple of factors, one is that there always lots of very short lived special offers from manufacturers while the London boat show is on but catching these right without committing to large amounts of stock is difficult.
The other is that at these prices then there is simply very little margin to allow for any problems, so a calculated risk says that further discount is just not worth it (remember the retail price on these is 260 pounds so everyone is discounting to start with).

The final word on buying a PLB for registration outside of the UK is thus:
1) Contact your country's registry and get a unique serial number allocated, in many countries this is your boat's MMSI number.
2) Order your PLB and ask the retailer to have it programmed with that number
or
Buy one "off the shelf" and send it to McMurdo to be programmed with your number.
There is a charge for programming, McMudo's is 49 pounds. Our charge is 35 pounds.

Thank you for your opinion
Can I assume you will be first to step forward and offer to coordinate the next multi-buy?

pick up Southampton would suit me..
Hi
With the difficulty of potental duty on top - I would prefer the UK souce for £195 was it - colect Southampton or have it shipped at a small extra charge.
Thanks
Paul

You are most welcome Carl - glad we have cheered your day up.
Amusing to you it might be but if this is going to work it needs to be clear and transparent - I won't take money from people unless I believe they are totally clear about what they are buying and how much it will be - so in this case back to the beginning we go.
If you feel you could organise it better without the need of a list then do give a hand or feel free to explain how - as it would be most welcome rather than a smirk from the sideline

No stop - don't bite - it ain't worth - its always a sure sign of fishing when our little Jimbo gets involved
This thread is already (as kindly pointed out by Carl) way too long - so please those fishing fuck off elsewhere and those buying log your requirements only - I've put too much energy and time into this to see it go tits up at the last moment due to the usual RIBnet bollocks

Why not just buy one from here
http://www.marine-super-store.com/po...edpartno=57999
Or spend the money on a professional engine service, fuel filter/separator and a check over by an experienced marine electrician of all the toys you’ve bolted on before you go buying more bits
If you want to know where to get a deal on the filter let me know
