Me and my Zar...

Well I'm new to Ribnet but have had a great day out on our new Zar and thought I should tell you all about it!

Having poorly timed my week off work with Wimbledon, and hence serious rainfall, the sun finally came out today and we took the Well Deck over to Newtown Creek (IoW).

Bit disappointed first thing with Hamble Yacht Services Dry Stack as for the second time this week the boat was still on the rack when we got down there after giving the required 1 hr notice. But a smooth ride over to Newtown soon put pay to any frustration. Sea was a bit choppy but nothing the boat couldn't handle.

Didn't see too many other ribs out, especially at anchor in Newtown (any reason why?!) but it was great...wind picked up a bit but the sun stayed out and we used our table for the first time and enjoyed a bottle of Pinot and a pork pie or 3! Then spent the afternoon using the sunbed at the stern listening to the ladies Wimbledon final on the radio! Perfect!

The sea state on the ride home was rougher than forecast but was fun and good to see what the boat could handle. Was glad to have the bench seat for the two of us to perch on, as in those conditions not sure I'd appreciate a jockey seat! Ouch!

Wish I had taken some photos but forgot my camera...promise to get some for the gallery next time.

Be good to hear where everyone else was today as didn't see many ribs out and about on the Solent...

Hi there, I was out today and for the first time, loved it! Went out from public slipway at Swanwick Marina. Was planning on going from Warsash slip but it was really muddy at the top of the slip and only a 4x4 would've made it down there to be honest. Bit of a trek out from Swanwick but once we were out it was great, little choppy but nothing to moan about. Couple of pics attached.

A Man (or a woman) after my own heart!

Have fun,

Martin (Medline 11, Sun Cushions, table, etc.) - but no sun.....

Did think about it but without a VHF at the mo and first time out and had one of my wifes friends with us who decided to tell me she had broken heel after hitting a couple of waves so stayed localish and sheltered in the southampton area - it did look like it was choppy though and worse going across the solent i would imagine!
