Memory Map Admiralty Charts

Just got a set of these, £40 for all uk and Ireland Admiralty charts, has a gps function, route planning and you can link it up to your chart plotter to upload routes etc. Can also print off charts.

you may already know about it but of not it seems like a bargain.

I'll second Memory Map - been using them for a while and have just got the latest portfolio covering all UK for £40.

They can be exported to Iphone (need to download the app for £20) or to a Windows mobile PDA/Smart phone (for free).

After a bit of messing around and hacking of the windows mobile software, I now have them running on a binatone satnav (£30 from Asda - see pic) - making an ideal simple chart plotter for under £70 and also can still be used with the original software for in car sat nav (just swap the sd cards). Not for anyone that expects it to work out of the box but anyone with some experience of embedded WinCE will find it easy.

But even just to plot any routes and upload to another plotter / GPS and print out what you want and laminate, I think it is worth it.

Visitmyharbour.com looks interesting - but id rather own the chart data than pay to access them "in the cloud". As I like the flexibility of being able to use them on the laptop / netbook / PDA etc without having to have internet access.
