We have clients out in Turkey and have run a course or three there.
Nice place and a nice lifestyle with some pretty boating areas. But whats the current annual tax situation on outboards there? Not cheap last time I was there and the charming Turkish coastguard pitched up in the bay to check paperwork. Removed the paradise bit for some of the ex pats! The local mafia sorted some of it out for their favourites, drinking mates with a certain cg guy apparently. An eyeopener!

When I. Get to paradise. I want the six weeks back that I spent in police stations coast guard officer and municipal. buildings. .The coast guard checked of out last week. I didn't try to outrun their rubber duck with meters twin 125 hp evgnrudes.on the back. Annual tax on motors has changed. If. The boat is less than 5 meters there is on tax apparently

I have met coastguards all over the world, and have been one here ...in foreign parts you never try to outrun them no matter what you are in, they are not all as friendly and helpful as ours!! They tend to have attitude and sidearms, plus rifles clipped to the cockpit sides
My friend had 125hp on the back of a 6 metre sportsboat in Turkey and the tax was allegedly around £10 per hp per year. But of course the local mafia hadnt told him that when they sold him the boat. The Mafia solution I believe is that they registered the boat as tender to their bar to bring tourists in from cruise ships and were exempt.
Not necc the Mafia of course....other clandestine organisations are available.
