Message inbox

Hi maybe I am a but simple but does anyone know how I delete the messages in my inbox ?
I am using an ipad in case that's different

Tick box to right of message and at bottom of page select delete from drop down menu.

Thanks for that Matt. No box on the ipad but a quick left sweep across the message reveals the delete icon thanks for your help as I said I may be just a little simple.
