No need for it to be Tohatsu if that won't fit under your jockey seat. Find one that will fit there and make up a short converter pipe.

That's a great idea - Am I right in thinking I'll only need a female connector specific to the make of tank, a short length of fuel pipe, a male Tohatsu connector for the other end of the pipe and 2 x jubilee clips?

Correct. I purchased a connector from a trade eBay seller (a-jayrox) and he threw in a section of grey fuel pipe for free. Too long actually, very generous.

Unless I'm missing something why not just change the connector currently on your fuel pipe end to one that fits the tank... or even make it a permanent connection if you refuel in situ??

Depends if you swop between two makes of tank like I do but correct. I would expect he keeps the Tohatsu 12L instead of using two green cans.

It might also be possible for citygent to get a second 12L tank next to the other and swop the pipe over when the first's empty?

All good ideas! I'm going over next weekend with tape measure in hand to see what will/won't fit under the jockey seat.

A 2nd 12l tank is an easier option but will take up more space than a new 25-30l tank with the 12l tank as reserve stashed somewhere else (bow locker?)

Will update when measuring done, and I can see what tanks they have in stock at Dulas!

By measurment alone I would have not expected the Quicksilver tank to fit, had to wiggle it in. I knew however that others with my boat had done what I wanted thanks to the forum. I hope there is some Marina workshop that has something old you can actually try. Suppose I could have cut the carry handle off and it would have been worth it. I fixed it to the deck with the same quick release luggage straps that helped lower it into position.
