More great service from Clyde Outboard Services

Being in the market for a new engine I ended up ringing round all the outboard dealers I could find on the internet, must have spoken to around 15 different companies.

Some dealers seemed disinterested, perhaps I was small fry only wanting to buy an engine that retails at just under £7k , others were just telling me utter rubbish and expecting me to believe them.

Two companies stood out from the rest, Clyde Outboard Services and Boatsandoutboards4sale. I would have been more than happy buying from either but had to choose one so picked Clyde Outboard Services.

i had several long conversation with Dave where we discussed all the details and he answered all my questions, and if he said he was going to ring back later that day, he did exactly that. Then it was over to Cameron for all the techie bits (cables and water separators, and props), and he covered all that side very efficiently. The engine arrived on time and incredibly well packed, overall an exceedingly easy and simple buying process. Don't worry that you are not close to Glasgow, I live over 300 miles away, and the boat (where the engine was delivered to) is over 450 miles from Clyde Outboard Services. After the PDI has been done by Cameron they can deliver to anywhere in the UK.

Was i happy with the service from Dave and Cameron, yes a first class service, thank guys.

Chris

I've heard quite a few good things about these guys, hope they do well as some of their local competition are garbage.

And by that you mean who? It's no use using such a broad brush, you impart zero information using that tactic. If you have information which is well founded then please pass it on. Otherwise please do not cast doubt over all companies in the area.

In particular DDZ down at Largs, slow, crap communication and shoddy work. I gave up using them in the end and had everything sorted out by Alec at Mitchell Outboards.

Gordy see that's what I meant it would have been a shame for the good guys to be tarred with same brush. Btw I agree!! Cheers B

Perhaps we need two ongoing threads, those suppliers that go the extra mile for the customer, and offer good quality and good value (which does not necessarily mean cheapest), and those suppliers that should be avoided.

If I were closer I would get Clyde Outboard Services to service my Honda but that's not really practical (unless I tow the rib up for a weeks cruising on the west coast )
