Fred that motor is gorgeous! What was it originally? Looks like a modded Stinger from the pics?
Have you done any work with pressure waves and expansion chambers on dry exhausts? I wondered about trying it on one of my old mercs but decided it wasn't really worth the hassle to mod a 50 Blueband. Too much work to play with a blind bore.

70hp cases are easier to come by, but for the most part STINGER.
the reflection wave is vary important, the in line triple works the wave the best,
cuzz when one cyl is closein one is exhaustin witch forces fresh fuel and air mix that has passed out of the cyl that is closein back in. with the right length tuna
you can get maximum affect. if you separated them with 3 expandos it would lose hp.
them blind bores, they do go, but they run out of port timin early and fall off fast on the power curve at the top.
this Moda peaks at 6700rpms, at 8000rpms she has lost 1 3/4 hp from peak.

Can you not get the same effect using a 3:1 spanny or would you get a drop-off of torque at low RPM and get a 'powerband' effect like a 2 stroke bike engine?
I guess a 3:1 spanny wouldn't be the easiest thing to make properly though-even the Japs couldn't do it very well on the production bikes that used them. They always went better with 3 spannys.

it gets the same effect as a 3 in to one. the demand on the water are vary dif ' than on land, as small as my hull is, it will never see the rpm range my triple street bikes did. on land the wave don't start workin till like 8000, at 8 on the water she is startin to over wind, hp is startin to fall off.

well them thare is Nitrous Oxide injectors, only one in the shot, but with 3, located after the reed blocks to eliminate any chance of the reeds freezin, they WILL Double the HP output when ya hit the switch. by injectin NOS and Alcohol

HEy Fred, how many horses do you think it's possible to get out of an 85 Yam and still keep it reliable?

Am I understanding this right - that my 40 hp 3 cyl yammie could be modified to put out 105 hp and still be reliable???

bore size is a lot smaller on the 40-50hp, not that you couldn't get them kinda hp out of it, it would not last and it would be a hand full to drive. far easyer at 52cubes in Yamaha for the hp numbers, like this one hear

Wow! That motor er, 'moda' is a piece of artwork. How fast have you gotten your SLT to with a beast like that pushing it along?
