thanks guys, ya had some crap to settle. anyway talk about timing
timing for a 2 stroke outboard. first you must forget all that you know about timing cuzz it does not apply.
ok on an outboard the more advance timin the harder it's guna pull to 6000rpms,
the more timin it has at 6000 and above the faster it burns down
so we can do one of two things, set timin low at 18-20deg advance, slow on the pull but right about 5200 or so she's guna turn ON and she'll be fine even if i let her go above 9000
OR we can set it at 24deg for the pull to 6000, then when she gets there (6000rpm's) we can use a soilinoid to push it back (timin) so you can still pull to the top and stay there with out the burn down

Who's "The Burg" ? Do you know how to contact Him ?
Also, it's not a problem if we have to ship. It is not too expansive to do a cargo freight to here.
If you have something let me know. It does not need to be race prepared.
Short OMC is fine too.
Please let me know if you have anything or if you have the contact for "The Burg".

Also I have a 20 inch shaft M50D2 that I want to convert to 15" shaft.
Does anybody have a DRIVESHAFT HOUSING S (AMB), WATER PIPE S, CAM ROD S, DRIVE SHAFT S ?
(I put 5 hours on it. Still going slow as I'm still breaking in the engine. )
If anybody wants the 20" shaft I can exchange.

Here's one for you: Not so much for more power but more economy (well..... OK..... and when I open it up it might be a bit more fun ) - As my clamshell's in bits, any simple mods to the intake / exhaust ports make it breathe more easily? There's a fair few split lines on the casting in my inlet, and it strikes me I could get a touch more air in, but then if it's got the ridges, is the fuel / air better mixed because of the turbulence they create.......
Might as well do it while it's in bits.....
A quick thought with your solenoid powered variable spark advance - Would it be better to have the solenoid push the advance at lower RPM, that way if the solenoid packs up or the wiring disconnects itself you just loose a bit of low end oomph, rather than killing the engine........
