Awesome Matt.

I took the SR4 out on Saturday in similar conditions. I had a few heart stopping moments when the boat takes off and doesn't seem to want to come back down.

I'd poop myself if my little Searider ever managed some of those interesting "air" techniques demonstrated by Matt - no wonder his sensible wife had concerns

JSP your Searider seems very stable - or at least the image does - compared to Matts - so Matt are you able to get your RIB to fly - and if you'd chosen to, the ride would /could have been more horizontal than vertical - or was the weather the real issue.

Cracking video though really shows how stable your beastie is

Note to self - decline ride with Matt in anything more than a F3

J,
it's Chris's Video. Matt wanted it on this thread too. I wasn't there.
And your searider would handle it fine. Matt just likes to fly

There's a video on here somewhere of Matt flying in a searider.

JSP - thanks - so essentially all RIBs can fly if you have Matt at the helm

It really gives you a feel for what they can achieve though - I certainly have a lot of growing room

Hi Jean, was great fun, yeh i trimmed up a little more than normal to get it to do this.
the weather was right on the nose blowing 40 knots which also helps, all in all a great weather for a fantastic days ribbing!!

Thanks Matt - so it's trimming up that helps - so I'm guessing the opposite is true - the further you trim down the more solid the ride??

Basics are trim down/in and brings the bow down. Trim out/up raises the bow. But it depends on the sea state which trim gives the better ride.

New underwear - lol - it does make you realise what RIB's can deal with, providing they have a competent helmsmen - although being slightly mad clearly helps

What about an incompetent helmsman? I get overexcited driving over a humpback bridge.

me too!!

Anyway, have been fiddling and tinkering over the last couple of weeks and adding a few bits.

Led Lights for the trailor, just cant stand the idea putting a shitty trailer board in a cleanish car, so they just left on now,(also easier when loading in the dark (you know where the end is with the side light on)
also changed the steering helm to a Bit T system, its so easy to turn and stands out a further inch compared with other NFB helm unit, its the same as a standard Avon Searider unit.

I also found the standard Teleflex helm just wasnt strong enough to take the abuse that was thrown at it, the black plastic bezel would bend etc etc

Also added a fire extinguisher and recess built in to the side of the consol!!
