must be getting a VHF on board. I've got a Navman 7100 sat in a box here waiting to be fitted, along with a Vtronic aerial.
I've also found that the discovered that she has a full offshore flare pack on board
, and they all ran out of date in either 1991 or 1998
. I've got an indate coastal pack so that isn't too much of a problem, but what's the best way of disposal of the old ones. I know that Chandlers won't take them back in but does anyone know whether the CG will dispose of them in a safe and appropriate manner?
Also there has been a lot of crud growing on the bottom, and whilst it has been anti-fouled there are still barnicles and quite a selection of weeds growing on it. I've started to scrape some of the muck off, and the antifoul appears to be "vaguely" water soluble, but at the rate progress I'm making with a stiff brush and soap solution I'd reckon all the old antifoul should be off by 2009
. I know that samt mentioned using a pressure washer earlier in this thread, but does anyone else have any other suggestions.
Other job that really needs sorting sooner rather than later is to get the brakes on the trailer fixed - at the moment the cable isn't even attached to the handle.
However can't complain - I got her for a cracking price, and now that Paul has worked is magic she's looking really quite sweet. I'll keep posting pictures as the work progresses.
Kathleen and Paul: Hoping we might get a "practice" lauch in within the next couple of months - just a pootle around the harbour to see how she runs.
Codders: You are quite right some more piccies of Paul's B4 and after work will be of interest to all. You may well also be right about time constraints though as I know he has a stack load of work on at the moment. There was another 13m Crompton on the pad at Tidel when I picked my one up
