My SR4 project

Well she let me have a day cleaning the boat so out came the fairy power spray and i attacked the hull, it came up quite nice a little flat but she is 19 years old,
Now to spend hours in the garage cleaning the tubes with starbrite!

I would loose the strap over the tubes, use the D rings on the transom

Query on my outboard it's a Mariner 40 hp 2 stroke (40MSL) does any one have any info on the MSL ?
manual special long
The only reference I can find on here is to it possibly being ex RNLI

Oh also it's a little clunky or grinding going into gear any ideas? I have yet to replace the gear oil since I bought it, the revs don't sound to high when it starts to go into gear

check the gear oil and see if its ok. It shouldn't be creamy in colour (internal seals gone) but black or clear is fine- black obviously means you could do with new gear oil though.

Just let out some gear box ever so slightly creamy colour I shall replace the prop shaft oil seal I think

new oil seal n new oil too, can't do any harm
