need to redo a badly done patch, (me being ocd) - I dont want to buy a litre of the stuff, can I just prep the area clean with nail polish remover? once roughed up
No, it contains greasy stuff so as not to damage fingernails. Lash out and buy some cellulose thinners, it's better than acetone and you can also use it remove excess adhesive from around your patch when you're done.
Take care, it'll also remove your nail polish.
Look for the best deal online (Ebay). I bought 5l... it worked out about £3.50/lit delivered (3yr ago) and has proved invaluable to have in the garage for other jobs.
I bought a 5L can of acetone off the girl who used to do my daughters nails. Cost about a tenner[emoji106]

Acetone and thinners is not the same as MEK try all 3 and you will see the difference, after cleaning with MEK glue bonds instantly and MEK removes excess PVC glue either old or new much faster than the other 2. Buy a small 250ml and try it, you won't go back trust me.
