RIBase
Name that hull...

Anyone any idea of the make of boat?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RIB-5-5M-w...item2c70c133fc

Looks like a lot of engine for a relatively small boat?

Thirsty brute?

RIBase
What is the general consensus on the BWM hull?

It doesn't look like a very "dry" boat, the transom seems very low.

Is it overpowered?

I had a DS18, it was very good but didn't look like that: Bow was higher (could be different tubes) and transom "normal" height (could be cut down to suit engine).

It FLEW with a 130hp v4 yammie. It would be lightening with a v6 merc although in reality I recall it chine walked badly over 45knts so might not really be any quicker.

I'll find a photo.

The postscript is that I believe build quality varied hugely over the production life.

Well my memory may be wrong, bow looks similar and chine's look the same too.

Here is a photo, gosh I'm young there. Also convenient close up of bow.

Early pre. '93 BWM deep sea 18 or Northcraft 5. 5 (Northcraft used to supply BWM at that time) This one looks, to have been retubed and was originally set up for twin motors. Later boats had a raised chine at the bow.
