I was slightly surprised to find a Wikipedia article entitled "Vehicle registration plates of Greece"...

You mean "fishing using boat" ?
This year I asked coast guard in Paleochora (Crete) and without licence I could enjoy fishing only without boat.

Something has been change ?

We used inflatable (HONWAVE 3.8) so I was not determine to use it for fishing. But next year we will use RIB HIGHFIELD OM540 DL.

And I have one more question.
Are there any regulation for use RIB in Greece (5.4m 100 HP engine).
Do I need to pay for port or pay any tax to use it ?
I think it depends on port. Paleochora port was for free for example.
But maybe there are some common regulations.

Same this year in Paxos Ged - very specific about fishing from a boat ( and diving in restricted areas) Nice enough about it though

As from April , fishing is free for everybody , either from a boat or not. This is to boosr tourrism as before only Greeeks were alowed to fish in Greece ( nice :-) )

I know thart a boat with English flag and English owner is not interesting for the Greek Coast guard

And my feeling is that Greek Coast Guard ias very polite with tourists

Shame to see them trashed like that ! You'd think they'd sell them at auction to get a bit of cash in .

Is there any new regulation in Greece about fishing from boat without any permission or just Coast Guard do not ask anything tourists (especially from UK )

Even in small, almost empty port in Paleochora (South Crete) Coast Guard have checked my boat registration papers from Poland and my motorboat licence.

My boat was the only one having crew wearing life jackets ... (impact neoprene and automatic pneumatic life jackets).

Greek people do not like such equipment I suppose.
