Nautica RIB

What is the general consensus on Nautica RIB's.. specifically the 18ft widebody? Good boat? I understand they are no longer under manufacture.. Anybody have experience, good or bad, with Nautica?

Not much experience on the left coast; they were (I think) made in Florida, and most of their market was over there. Never heard they quit; if they did it must have been pretty recently.

Yes, I just bought the last of the new 2012 production.

I am excited.. but cautious with my new boating venture.

Any other opinion on Nautica as a manufacturer?

They are a very high quality boat that can take a real beating. We owned a 19' WB (2002) for 6 seasons and found it to be the best all around boat we ever owned. We have now just purchased another one as a result of that experience.
I have been to the maufacturing plant in Fl and it was top notch as well as their process.
Nautica was forced to file Chapt 11 Feb 3rd of 2012 due to a number of 'inconsitencies' in the manner which the owner ran the business. There is currently a concerted effort to resurrect the company under new ownership but that will likely take a while. You can find the filing online but it is sparse with details.

Hope this helps
