Navionics Vision+... worth £250?

Im thinking of getting the Navionics Vision+ to add to my garmin 95sv (for the High-Resolution Relief Shading) as we do a lot of freediving / spearfishing in the summer and it cn be very handy to find great pinnacles. My only issue is that its £250/year! any hope there may be a deal on Black Friday maybe? im in no rush

I've got the app on my mobile phone - was shown it by a friend in Cornwall this summer - & had a play with the 10 day free trial.
Amazing & a complete fishing game changer for an area I thought I had reasonable knowledge of.
Only £34.99 for the year for that version, but you're playing with a tiny screen which is the drawback.
If I was able to use it a lot more I wouldn't hesitate, but £250 for 3/4 weeks is a bit hard to justify esp as I find it works well in conjunction with my plotter/finder.

He uses it on a kayak & also has one of the gps locking electric motors which will hold you in one spot & the results are incredible.

That same app works fine on most tablets so you still get the relief shading but on a much larger screen.

£35 is much more reasonable . Can you use it where there is no signal though? Also I assume you can then use it on iPhone and iPad if under same Id?

You do need a GPS antenna in the tablet or Ipad but you dont need a phone signal. You can download maps to your local storage. I think most is covered here https://casualnavigation.com/what-ta...run-navionics/

Plenty on eBay for about £50. Probably not the latest detail but I wouldn’t imagine the sea bed changes that often

Sony Xperia i3312. Android 8.1.0. EE.
Works fine Coverack bay, Manacles inner & outer, round towards Helford, Black Head area.
Never had signal issue since they put a mast above Coverack a few years ago as up till then signal in the village & close in towards Lowland Point was v poor. Once out in the bay & L.O.S towards Falmouth was fine but the new mast sorted it.
No idea about ipads etc.
