navy spec 5.4 searider
hi can anyone give me some advice on the searider 5.4 advertised on www.fafb.co.uk ? sorry im unable to upload the direct link! looks a really nice boat with a really good engine but i cant help think its very over priced for such an old boat! are the navy spec seariders heavier laid up than standard or oil spec ones? any plus points of this set up?
thanks in advance for any help
Hector.

The offshore oil RIB's actually weigh 24kg more than the Navy spec although this maybe the alloy A frame hanging off the back?!
FAFB site doesn't appear to be playing ball at the moment although if its the same SR5.4 I saw it was over priced.
You might be worth having a look at MattH's SR5.4 refurb and ask him how much he sold his for. His was immaculate, might give you something to gauge prices off?

he has reduced it to 8k but I still feel this is way over the odds even with the newer engine

I wouldn't pay that for it. The engine is only 4 years old though.

This one?
Far higher spec tubes with anti-stuff straps.
The navy spec boat alone when new is £16k, not £10k as he quoted.
That one is probably worth close to what he's asking for it if that is actually a brand new 90.However, he's said it's a 2006 engine. He would have done himself a favour if he'd cleaned the boat properly before advertising it...
I reckon it's worth about 6.5 to 7k...

Ive missed out on a few boats recently and think this looks quite good but was thinking more about 6 to 6.5k he has obviously spent a good bit on it but it is a 20yr old boat and thats why i dont feel its worth what he is asking! good trailer and engine tho. when u say far higher spec tubes are you just meaning thicker?

Partly.
Age means very little with Seariders unless they are nearly new. It's the condition that's important.

The straps that run over the tubes to stop you ripping the tubes off when you stuff it.
