New Boat Needed- Help
hi there,
i am just looking for a new boat recommendation!
currently we have an elite (doubt anyone will have heard of it!) which is falling apart after 14 years of hard service and are going to start looking for a new boat.
The criteria are:
1- It must be around 5.6 meters (give or take)
2- It must have around a 90-115 engine on the back
The reason for this is it MUST BE ABLE TO BE LAUNCHED SINGLE-HANDEDLY
3- It must be suitable for skiing, fishing, playing around on but does not need to be an offshore beast.
Avon will be looked at soon and I would appreciate pointers for other makes which people have had good experiences with!
Many Thanks,
James

James I am sure you will get a lot of responce to this post ![wink](https://www.rib.net/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif) but you have two shows both on the Solent soon. Here you should be able to test boats in the same conditions some with different engine options, together. If your are looking for new could be a good statring place. If you go to the show web sites you can see whos at each show and book a trip out with them and meet people with boats you intrested in had have a chat. Good luck

May I suggest the Ribcraft 5.3 which takes up to a 100hp engine. It's tough, well-made, small enough to be launched single handed yet large enough to cope with a bit of a chop. Lots of engine and seating options and would suit sir down to the ground.
Slightly larger is the 585 which takes up to a 150 hp engine and is that little bit bigger and faster.
Ribcraft are a very professional outfit building in a modern factory in Yeovil - well worth a visit.

We've got a lovely 5.8 Osprey vipermax for sale, with mercury 150hp engine if you are interested. My husband has no problems launching it himself, without any help.
Look in ribs for sale, on this site.

To bring some (vague) sanity back to this thread....have a look at Delta's Dash 550 (5.5m) or 600 (6.0m) range...
Can't comment specifically on the Dash, but have used their X-range for years and couldn't speak more highly.
The company is good to deal with, customer service is excellent, and the range of options will probably make your bank manager cry.
Hope this helps.
Simon

What makes me worried is that you have gear like that lying around Alice...
