Just a quick line to say hello. I have just bought an osprey viper 5.25. Im getting back into boats after a long lay off (used to crew for me dad on his boat), and im looking forward to being my own skipper.

Evening Martin,
Welcome to the forum. Its a great place for me and for you and for the entire human race. Some very very nice people on this forum who will bend over backwards to help out in everyway possible (all those who I have met this summer come under this category )
As way of initiation, it is a requirement that you read the following thread, start to finish (all 15 pages). It was started by Mr Pete7 above. Apparently it has become a bit legendary and keeps coming back for more.
http://www.rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1884
I started to read it once, but it drew me into a weird world of mystery and darkness...much like that kids film the "Never ending Story" .
Have fun.
Cheers
Tim
PS only joking Pete, I might need to tap into your vast wealth of knowledge sometime soon to help me with the making some of my own consoles!

Osprey Viper
Hi,
I also have an Osprey viper (they do seem to be few and far between!) and have had the rib for 10 years, it still looks great, a good testament to the Osprey build.

Nick...
Is that first picture taken in the Thames by Fulham Rail Bridge?
If it is I'm amazed how shallow it is.
Maybe it's somewhere completly different!

Louise,
Hi wheel it has taken a lot of hard work to get her back to this condition!
I original bought the boat with my diving club, but it ended up only being used by me for family holidays!
So 2 years ago I bought it again!
This is what it looked like when I got it!!
Nick
PS no it is not me in the first photo that is a GIRL!!

Oops! Sorry! Well she does have short hair!
I remember seeing those pictures before - hadn't made the connection! Well your hard work has obviously paid off.
Edit: what caused the streaks on the console? Did you get them off?
