New member to the searider Club!
Just returned home with a 4m searider! slightly shabby but up and together with a very healthy 30 mariner elec start 2-3 person jockey console bilge pump, recent bearings and new tyres!
All for the princely sum of £1500...
at this stage I am of course delighted- if it sinks on maiden voyage
As I need PTT for others to use the boat plan to sell the 30 - anybody out there in need???
now then i know there's a slipway on the canal down the road...

Excellent stuff! I take it your going to put your new 50 on it? BoatsandOutboards will be the place to sell the Mariner unless somebody on here is looking.
Good luck with your new toy,
Alex

Go four stroke if you can afford to man!
I got Suzuki 45 and its sweet as.
But it depends on what kinda use you want out of the boat.

Thanks guys! it's had the flooding hull sealed - what's the consensus on that?
also I am going to fit a fuel tank - how big is optimum on a 4m? questions questions

Fuel tanks
Ive got 2x 25 litre plastic portable few tanks and I always keep a spare 5 litres under the console. If I am only going out for a couple of hours I just take the one but for cruising I find I need both. The trouble is on a 4 metre boat like yours and mine space is at a premium, I usually have one 25l at the bow tied down and one tied at the back of the console.
This is not ideal though! I am considering having a flexible plastic tank in the front of the console with a filler on the outside, my main concern with this is that you have to take the boat to the petrol station.

It looks like I could fit a 62litre in the console - I've seen one on the net with baffles for about £125 - I would guess baffles would make sense in a small rib - not the cheapest but spent less than expected on the boat...

mines a flooding hull, very stable for the size - sits a lot lower in the water mind, takes a little while to get the water out of the hull, not long enough to annoy me ,as im quite gentle on her on initial acceleration from standstill , itll be the same as mine on the plane i reckon though,
