I guess they are worrying about more than the 'police' patches at the moment. Anyone know the damage or if its repairable ? Shame to see whats clearly a quality bit of kit go to waste.
Is it a case of - 'couple of hyplalon patches be good as new mate ' -or 'lets sell any bits that aren't bent & leave the hull in the yard for the next 20 years '

My Hurricane was decorated like that... a nice slab of hypalon covered it and gave me some extra protection when dragging twin tanks up the side...
What's the latest on boat? As Ricky Ricardo used to say. "Somebody's got some 'splainin' to do...!"

Thanks for all the nice replies - the boat is great. I work with the guys that are being trained to drive it and yes it is a top bit of kit.
The funding came from the home office and the boat is to be use by several different departments (inc the dive unit) to make it as cost effective as possible.
We have a responsibility to cover the whole of the coast upto 12 miles offshore! This include counter terrorism - protection of our powerstations, supporting customs etc...
This is the first large RIB the force has owned and the crews are still training on the boat. If you see it afloat please go over and say hello,
If anyone has any questions about the boat or the crews then please ask away,
Mike

Really ? Or are they just looking for target practice ? I know the Navy like people to keep far away from their toys !
On the plus side, if it lives at the dive unit by Almondsbury can you at least park it at the front so we can all have a good drool whilst stuck in traffic ?!

I was at the nuclear submarine base the other day, very interesting all the small craft they have. Loads of Halmatics, couple of Police Deltas with twin mariners (blue clouds billowing into the distance on start up ) but the most interesting things were the acks or ocks I think they're called: they're aluminium boats which look like ribs but arn't, used by the marines as a rapid response vessel in case of any threat. However, when the American war ships come in they all jump to attention and have to patrol a 3mile exculsion zone, British ships just have a few Police Seariders buzzinfg around
The Police Searider on duty as we came back in was very nice, blue tubes, mariner 90, and both crew were fully Gecko'd up.
