Cheers Tim, yes it was alongside 785 yesterday- the 785 is flater and does not have bow rise and has a completly different hull, The V on 850 runs to the stern and has the chines throughout the length and also the solid keel guard. Very impressive bit of kit.
The beam is circa 2.9m whereas the 785 is 2.5.
Weight is approx 2100kg with the 785 about 17-1800kg

Beautiful Boat! The Ribeye tubes look really smart, smoother curves around the bow compared to geminis own tubes with their thrupenny bit profile around the bow!

Looks Great but wouldn't it be easier and greener to produce it all in house in the UK like Ribcraft Osprey etc

Speeds looking very similar to the 785 with a 250, fuel is slightly up due to weight and size, but from todays runs the engine drives the boat well. We only filled one tank full as they run in line in the centre of the RIB so will work through how balanced is affected by loading front tank on next fill.

Boat handling in reasonable chop today was good, we found sitting more comfortable than the old position of standing on 785 helm as this boat pushes through waves rather than flying off the top on every one so more comfortable all round. The bow sits very clear of all waves and gives you great confidence.
Sea state moderate, wind NE 17knots gusting 30, high water falling, strongest tide was Cowes roads area and maybe of Bramble bank

Today I took some existing customers out and lent them some gear to protect themselves from the freezing weather and also allowed them to helm for a while. Also aboard was another operator just running out to test the feel and response on the new one

They would probably have to burn a ton of extra fossil fuel just to bring the UK laminating workshop up to temperature......

Excellent shots, boat looks really solid. James at Ribeye had been talking about them about to produce an 850 when I was at the LBS. I hadn't realised how far along they were.

It'll be interesting to hear your thoughts when you've been using it for a couple of months.

I took this image today at Hamble Point showing the Ribeye S 785 and the new Ribeye S 850
RRibs boat in the foreground with Gemineye behind. Shows the hull design change and bow lift

The testing so far with passengers has been good. It is very noticeable more solid in the water and a very stable platform. It punches through waves very well and turns superbly as though on rails with no spin out at any speed. The light Power steering is very noticeable when mooring.

Two different models
785 is 2.5 beam flatter tube position
850 is 2.92 beam and seperate hull based from Gemini 850 hull , larger bow rise and larger tube size as a start

I have had both hulls, the 785 we used for 5 years or more and this 850 we have had since March.

Without a doubt the 850 hull is designed for waves and larger seas, the bow rise is high and hull pushes through waves rather than launching off each one.

Look at gemini you tube waverider series, this is based on the same hull, this is military spec one

The 785 is a lighter hull and boat, smaller tubes and no bow rise. works well when you know the boat. The 850 sits in the water at rest with little beam movement unlike the smaller Ribeyes
