New Rib

Hi all,

Picked up my winter project a few weeks ago. Its a Ribcraft 585 with a Honda BF90 on the back.

Perfect for me as it currently has only one seat/console leaving plenty of options for a re jig seating wise.

I took a gamble and drove the 250 miles to Kent so see her. The seller had lost the keys and the isolator keys so i had no idea if she would run. After a good inspection i offered £1K less than the asking price and they bit my hand off...

So finally got a key sorted, pumped out the old fuel, added some new and turned the key.....

Fired up with a bit of choke and runs like a dream.....FEW!

Anyway, not tried her in the sea yet but feeling very happy that i've got a really good boat for £5K

Looks like you had a very good result. I also am pleased with my recent purchase which I paid £3000 for but quite a bit smaller than yours.

Well done. All we need now is some good weather to test and tinker with them

Well done Paul,

Bet the engine starting was a relief.

Enjoy the build and keep us all posted on progress.

Can't beat a RC585

Knocked up 4 single jockey seat pods today, all ready for a sand and fill then will glass them inside and out and get them professionally sprayed.

Paul

I would be very interested in how to class such a thing. I need one similar and was horrified at the prices charged online. If you have time can you give some pics etc of the glassing process. I am generally quite handy but never done any large glassing

Dennis
