New rib on order

Hi all,
I just ordered a new rib so thought it only polite to register

Zodiac pro 550 open with Mariner 115 optimax, on indespension trailer.

Full package £15,000 inc VAT

dealer 5 miles away quoted £17,000 for same boat with e-tec 90.

have seen other "bargains" at £16,000
Also note that Zodiac price for this has risen by £1400 + as from 1st September.

Happy chappy, just waiting for delivery

Hi Three rex,

Welcome and good luck with your purchase.

I use to live in East Calder when I worked in Edinburgh. I take it you'll be playing around in the Firth of Forth.

I had a couple of trips in the SIB that I used to have at the time landing on those islands with old gun emplacements and zooming between the bridges. I should imagine theirs some good cruising grounds around there such as North Queensferry.

Wimp that I am I gave up boating for a while because of the cold. It was before I new about drysuits. I blamed it on new born kids.

Best of luck Nick R.

Welcome aboard, probably be seeing you on the Forth! I keep my RIB at Port Edgar in South Queensferry.

Drop me a PM if you need a 'safety boat' when you first get her out on the water.

Cheers,
Fraser

Bound to bump into each other either in the forth or loch lomond - as those are our usual "cruising" grounds. I suspect you might just be able to go a little faster than me though!

don't know about that... the quickest a rib went on sunday night in the Forth was 6knots... and one of them had a 170hp. mind you it was "choppy" and very dark.
