RIBase
New Ribcraft 4.8m Commercial

Picked it up last weekend. Ribcraft have done a great job, with fantastic attention to detail. The hull looks like it will handle the rough stuff, which was part of the reason from switching from a Zodiac Pro. Named her 'Sùlair' which is gaelic for gannet, as her second will be on the west coast.

Extras include hypalon wear patches, bow snubber, windshield and stainless steel grab rail, and six internal grab handles. Fits in the garage by the smallest of margins (sits higher on the Rapide trailer than the Pro used to on the Indespension Rollercoaster). Had to drop the jockey wheel right down and inch it in.

Planning to install navigation lights, Perko stern light, anchor locker light, Tohatsu tacho, fuel trays (x2), Plastimo compass, hand-held Garmin GPS on marine mount, dry-powder fire extinguisher, and auxilliary engine.

Engine will be a mint 2006 Tohatsu 2-stroke, 3 cylinder engine.

They are great boats, only critism on the one I teach on, (585) is the surround over the windshield gets in the way of your view of the water when driving.

great looking boat spartacus and best of luck with her...thats two boats ribcraft have knocked out in the last three months called sulair..albeit we went for the non gaelic spelling.

Suits your boat better than ours frankly as our boat is black and i am yet to see a black gannet on my travels!

Shout if you are ever in the water anywhere near oban

Excellent boat Spartacus. I'm saving hard for a 4.8 but need to sell my Zodiac (comedy boat) first. Hope you have plenty of fun with her. Would you let me know what she's like once you get her rigged and on the water, especially in the lumpy stuff.
