I also have a garage door issue and I'm liking this a lot!

Couple of Qs -
Does it rattle & bang in the waves, or have you used plastic bushing on the hinged (forward) connection?

I assume the spigot on the rear isn't as deep as it looks? (I guess you have to pull it outwards slightly to disengage it, or am I missing a detail in the pics?

Bedajim had his radar tower on a similar hinged system. Prob was, it had auto release.

The four mounting points of the main part of the frame have M12 bolts through them and are tightened once the frame is upright. To fold forward, the front ones are loosened a turn and the rear ones are removed. To fold back (to make it easier to work on the engine for example - the cover of the engine is pretty large) the front ones are removed and the rear ones loosened.

I played around with various schemes to make it quick release but thought it would make it weak and rattle. I'll probably put a thin disc of rubber in each joint to make it stiffer against rotating once tightened and to allow me to run a blade down should I ever get a bolt jammed. I might put non-stainless bolts in just in case.

Lights, VHF aerial and GPS aerial on and wired up. All the cables run down the port front a-frame and into the transom box in the 25mm black conduit.

...and the blue cover still fits (although it is banjo tight!).
