New to RIBS any advice!!?

I am in the process of selling my 32foot Cruiser due to continued problems. The boat which I had owned from new was two years old, every weekend there some something else wrong with it! So it is going!

I am looking at a new Rib around the 6-7meter length with 150-200hp it would be used for whizzing around the Solent and possibly the odd trip to france???

I know nothing about Ribs but from what I have looked at so far my preference is for a Ribcraft 6.8 with an Evinrude E-tec 175. Any Comments?

If you would recommend or you think this would be fine could you let me know!

Any help is very much appreciated!

Chris

Sounds like a great setup to me. Both excellent choices.

What hard boat did you have???

Hi Chris
Take a look at the scorpion web site. It gives you a large gallery to look through and a "Rib Configuration tool" to play with.
If you choose Scorpion you certainly wont be dissapointed.

For someone who doesn't know anything about ribs you have come to the right conclusion or have been well advised? Ribcraft 6.8 with 175 rude E-TEC would be near on my dream boat, there are several boats in this class that are a cut above the rest Ribcraft being one of them.

would be torn between a yam or the rude though?

For me the 6.8 is a bit commercial looking, and the 7.5 sport would probably come out at about the same price but be bigger, faster, better looking, more economical... And have the same Ribcraft quality.
