Towergate always insist on trailer lock (wheel clamp type) or wheels removed from trailer. Other things mentioned by posters are specific policy dependent. 370gbp seems reasonable although always worth asking insurers for a discount, 10% would be quite common in the industry.

As a matter of interest moore288, are thefts of ribs common in Denmark ?

Hi Kerny. I can say that ribs themselves are not that common in Denmark! The thing people have mostly is American sports boats like Montereys. At the risk of re-igniting the debate all the ribs you see are pretty much Brigs. Mostly Navigators. Also the commercial ribs in Scandinavia are often Brigs. And we have just moved to stockholm . Brilliant for ribs and there are a few more here- again quite a few Brigs and some zodiacs. I think Brig have the supply side sown up... Anyway in terms of crime the general levels are lower in these parts but it happens just them same. Most likely if you are a victim is to get your rib towed off to the east of Europe where it is sold or broken up. This is a fast growing crime issue for cars and bikes in Denmark. When the harbour master in DK saw my rib he said to make sure it was locked up, so I guess that says something. They don't really do wheel clamp locks in DK though, as specified by Towergate - so I had to import one. Out here the trailer locks are on the tow hitch. If anyone is planing to bring their rib to Copenhagen or Stockholm let me know, great summer boating and I'd be happy to help them with the practical stuff! Richard

Indeed, that is impressively unimpressive. It's certainly not the boat I had in mind!

Max apologies for giving wrong information about Brig going bust , was meant to be a warning just in case it was true . The person who lied to me about this will be getting a rollicking today . I had a long chat with Paul (wolf rock ) who is a business friend and he assures me that all is fine . Good luck and enjoy your purchase .

Spoke to Paul who was livid....need to remember guys peoples livelihoods can be broken by chatter on these kind of forums ..... A bit of responsibility please is required ..... Ok not to like my new boat... I don't really care... But each dealer is doing their best ...if I made a bad call in your opinions fine I will deal with it.
I just want to enjoy ribbing nothing more
Face to face is probably best ... in life in general
See you all soon

Seriously, how committed are you? Ribcraft are nearer to you and the real deal. The difference in residual alone between a Ribcraft and a Brig would be colossal.

Not necessarily, there's always someone prepared to pay top dollar, it's just a case of finding the sucker correct buyer

True, but easier to sell a proper bit of kit to a well informed buyer than find a muppet to buy a pup. ;-)

Also, with more Brig units sold than RC, whilst it's unlikely to sell on here, there's arguably more buyers who want cheap fair weather boating. Plenty of boats languish on here, it's pretty niche in the wider boating market.

Yep, agree, as with most forums you can get some really good advice on here but after a while you find out which posts to flip past....
