Newquay Harbour
Is anyone familiar with it? Is there a usable slipway? Can you get people ashore at all states of the tide?
Any useful info would be great - the almanac doesn't give much away.

Very tidal. Mainly used by Mancunians for fighting and shagging.

Yeah, avoid Newquay. If you have to launch on the North Coast, go to Rock.

We used to surf from the harbour many years back its def tidal but you've got steps running down the wall though so in principle no issues for getting people on & off? might be able to get u a photo if it helps? regards AL

This Google Streetview might help, I would have also have a look at your route down to the slip as the traffic is a nightmare in Newquay and the streets are a bit narrow with parked cars and 3 sheets to the wind trippers..
Good luck..

Used to dive with a group and launch a 5.8m Osprey there with a Land Rover, the access ramp onto the Harbour beach is concrete but after that you`re onto sand and I would agree with it being 1/4 tidal(up to 1.5 hrs either side of LW).
We gave up using Newquay for either launching a RIB or mooring our hardboat as its too busy in the summer to park, get to your boat, get to the steps, you end up pissing off the fisherman and tripper boats its too much hassle.
Hayle further west has a useable slipway too but has a sandbar at the entrance and is effectively 1/2 tidal for RIBs.

Simon, did I hear on Radio Cornwall that you'd had a heap of trouble returning from Norway?

Yes, you heard right, I went to Norway for a 2 day meeting for work and got stuck there with the Volcanic ash problem.
Eventually my workmates and I jumped on a ferry to Denmark, train then hire car through Denmark and Germany into Holland where we caught a ferry to Newcastle, where I got on the train home. Four days travelling, great fun!
