No Ribs in Kent? / Fishing Query

Hello all!

New to boating having been on a few trips to Salcombe etc. Getting my PB level 2 etc.

I am looking to go fishing in the Kent area and have a couple questions.

It seems from a look online that there aren't many ribs for sale in Kent, is there a reason that they might be less popular here than in the West?

Is a Rib suitable for sea fishing in Kent? If so what size would be most suitable / capable in north coast waters.

I'm sorry for such novice questions, I hope to be back with more interesting and experience-drawing questions soon.
