Neil,
I know you did not like your console, but don't you think that this is rather an extreme way of getting rid of it

Yes. I'm most jealous. I spent half the weekend tryng to swap my remarkably similar looking keys over for Neils but he wouldn't let me.

Could we have some more pics please. I yearn for a cabin RIB so would be interested to see inside and out

Does look very smart!
Is this designed just for the Shakespeare or will it adapt to fit similar RIBs too?

OK OK, Biff's been under embargo, but she got her first outing at the weekend, so I was going to start a build thread. will just carry on from here when I am at home, and post the pics I have throughout progress.
I have to say i am chuffed with the result, and a big thanks to Biff for taking on the challenge. I am also rather chuffed that all my measuring up, resulting in me telling him it had to be a bit wider here and have 8 cms knocked off there, was rather spot on
thanks Biff

It's Biffs'cabin Andy, stuck on my boat. It was a rather lucky coincidence the shape was right.

From seeing it the inside is still 'work in progress' , but looks like it will be nice and 'airy' when done.
Maybe a nice frame of some kind to 'balance the look' ?

1) 1st wax
2) 2nd wax (can you tell the difference?)
3) cabin bulkhead and door cutout in place
4) 1st gelcoat
5) 2 layers of matt

6) all laid up
7) roof strengthening cut and positioned
8) strengthening in place
9) removed from mould
10) trimmed and put in position - not a bad fit considering

the whole lot is still a "work in progress" but I had to get out on the water at the weekend
it'll be a while before I upholster the inside as well, but yep, loads of space

What neither Neil or Biff has mentioned shown is the quality of the join to the tubes on top and the internal work round the tubes with access to the valves - all of which looked very good when I stuck my head in.
The infill cushions forming the backrest to the seats on Biffs boat is also a great touch (wish mine was like that!)
Oh and a photo for Trevor G showing the bags I use for small stuff in the cabin with velcro backs so they stick anywhere.
