The Farnes are my old stomping ground & I've never launched at Blyth, so I might be up for it depending on when you're thinking of.

How about launching at Amble, look around Coquet island, up to the Farnes, club a few seals. Fish & chips in Seahouses. Visit Lindisfarne, Berwick, or both & back for tea. About a 70nm round trip.

The big fat knacker of a harbour master is very anti-RIB at seahouses, very un-friendly. It used to be an old chap called George, a true gent, sadly passed on.

Can you not land? Tourist boats do land. I thought you could land, but there was a fee. Only ever been on a tourist boat.

We launched our rib at Seahouses a couple of months ago, diving a wreck & out with the seals etc. The harbour master is a rather large chap I agree. But we were polite & courteous to him & had no problems. As long as you let him know what you intend to do. In fact it was very rough the day we wanted to launch & he initially wouldn't let us. But we let him know we were just doing some training drills for that morning around the harbour area & he was fine about it. We kept the boat overnight for 2 nights in the harbour with good protection at a cost of £30 per night including the launch fees. Hope this may be of use to you?

Farne Islands Pilot : Dinghy Cruising Association : GroupSpaces

Farne Islands Anchorages and Lindisfarne (Holy Island), brief notes on Seahouses Harbour - North East England: pilotage, charts, photos and marine business listings

You can only land on Longstone on via one authorised Tourist Boat from my understanding. But it does appear you can get to the other two on any suitable craft and pay your entry or possibly wave your NT Membership Card...
