Northumberland self launching?

Hi all,

Been spending a lot of time on the Northumberland coast recently, and considering bringing the boat up next summer.

Only issue is the seeming lack of places to launch and then park the car/ trailer.

We would be staying in the Bamburgh / Seahouses area, so Beadnell is doable, but launching at Seahouses looks tricky and Amble has a bit of a reputation!

Can anyone familiar with the area recommend our best options?

Some might know that until now, Anglesey had been our usual playground - there are so many quiet beaches and little coves to discover and swim in - any recommendations on the Northumberland coast that might be worth a visit?

Thanks in advance!

maybe further north than you're planning but there is a sheltered slip in Berwick beside the lifeboat station. It's not a great slip but is usable for 2-3 hours either side of high tide. Space to leave your car and trailer in the small car park or on the grass.
I like to head north from there up to St Abbs head, very interesting stretch of coast to explore.

Interesting......!

Had a peek on Google satellite view and I can see where you mean - there's actually a trailer parked on the grass!

Only 20 minutes away from here so not too bad, and if its free launching/parking, all the better! Thanks 👍🏻

Unless things have changed, Seahouses is pretty unfriendly towards visiting boats. Beadnell would be a better option but I believe is now quite expensive. You used to be able to launch At Eyemouth, but I don’t know what the current situation is. St Abbs was always a favourite back in the day. Dunbar, North Berwick were also doable, but probably getting out of range.

You can beach launch at Eyemouth if you have a lightweight set up, Dunbar is another
