Not good

First thought was I hope it's no-one on here, ultimately that makes very little difference. Condolences to family and friends.

Ah crap - I heard Belfast CG talking to some of the Redbay guys today - it all makes sense now. Small community/group of boaters...

Very sad news, and condolences to the family concerned.

Not a nice time for Belfast CG and the SAR teams either, however much you've done you always go home asking if there was that little more you could have done or should you have planned the search slightly differently - even if you know it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

If what I'm hearing is correct, most of the crew on the recovering ILB would have known the casualty personally - so yes, a hard day.

RIBase
We went into Cushendall on that and saw the local ILB launch, liase with the offshore boat, and go on up the coast. We were then up at Rathlin the next morning. Very sad to see a Redbay there, sitting alone and empty. Very plaintive and doleful.
