most "wives of" on here are happy with camping, you will be giving them ideas now. Just think of how many necessary "shinney things" you could buy that are totally necessary for a rib for that amount

Pete

Comes from a guy that sold his RIB and bought a Yacht so that the missus wouldn't have to camp

We've used Dartside holiday homes a lot for winter trips to Dartmouth, they have various places around the town and are reasonable. Beware that their cheaper places are a bit rough now as they've not been decorated etc for a while, their more expensive apartments are much better.

As Pete says Mrs Nasher is happy to camp during the summer, although we've promised ourselves a couple of nights at the Dart Marina hotel when our numbers come up. £170 is less than we pay for a week during August. Oh how the other half live.

Reasonable places to eat are few and far between in Dartmouth, although the pub up by the upper ferry is good. Another one I can't remember the name of that we've eaten at is near the police station, on the left as you head down the road back to the riverside.

Nasher.

The family and I are off to Brixham next week, so will have to check out these Hotels and eateries in that area.

Still, you can't beat Fish and Chips on the Quayside IMHO.

Dartmouth is an expensive destination, as with a few others in the South West.

She then muttered several words I cannot mention here and said something about this being a "family" holiday

The Kids love the RIB

4 of us ate at the New Angel last week, lovely food but none of slept well that night cus the food is soooooooo rich!
I think the marina is pretty dear also as we were on a 43' motor cruiser and it was costing nearly £65 per night! are the moorings in dartmouth the dearest on the south coast??

Hi - In case it's of interest there's a Biboa run from Cowes to Dartmouth from Friday 29th - Sun 31st May. (See www.Biboa.com/forum) As long as the weather's Ok we'll be in Dartmouth from the Friday afternoon so if you are still in the area and want to get a bit of ribbing in I'm sure we could arrange something on Dizzy or one of the other boats for you and the kids. I should have Katie and/or Richard (my kids) with me.
I'll PM you my mobile number in case you want to get in touch nearer the time.
Trevor

The plan is to leave Yarmouth at about 10.00 and be in Dartmouth for Lunch. This sounds a bit optimistic to me (or maybe it'll be a late lunch) but that's the plan! All weather dependent of course!
