Odd one: Zodiac Hurricane RIB "bones" to mod?

This is a crazy one, so hold on:

There is a Zodiac Hurricane RIB, just the hull, no rubber, for sale cheap near me. Cheap!

Could that be made into a special project of some sort, to tool around in a quiet bay?

Note that I registered on the forum some time ago, but eventually caved in and got into a small powerboat... no RIB for Jay... :-(

What are you suggesting? Fitting new tubes to it (possibly more expensive than you expect). or running with no tubes (almost certainly a bad idea), or something else?

Take a look through the For Sale North America section, which should get you a ballpark figure on tube replacement cost.

If it's just the bare hull, figure in a ton of work getting that fixed up, the cost of a motor and rigging (and any mods that need to be done to run it), the tubeset, electronics, trailer, and all the legally required equipment.

Jason (Bigtalljv) has a long thread in the NA forum about getting a 733 ready to roll.

New tubeset is probably $10k+.
