Offshore Lifejacket
Looking to buy a really good lifejacket like the Off shore RNLI use. Crewsaver wont seem to sell them to general public ,I have tried. Would like it to have permanent boyancy built in as well as inflation to top up to 220 ish newtons as per rnli spec. Any ideas on manufacturers/make/model/price thanks Geoff

i thought that the offshore ones they were the same as the crewsaver 275 N ones except they wont have rnli stamped on the retro tape ,
the other crewsaver ones with inherant bouyancy that the inshore lifeboat crews wear are availeble from cosalt safety and retail at around £550 plus twat ,well that was last years price ,,,just had a quick look on cosalts website and they go under the name of rib inshore lifejacket as used by rnli and a run down on specs ect .dont look under crewsaver section it just gives info on sailing and yak stuff look under air foam lifejackets ,,,,,,,,Rib Manual Lifejacket [ quote from the section ]
This lifejacket has been developed from the lifejackets supplied to the RNLI and has been purchased by many of the coastal rescue services operating around the UK and overseas.

It really does bug me when you can't find the price for stuff anywhere online and the manufacturer won't sell direct. I assume this is the case for these?
Most times this happens I buy a different product.

I have used the Baltic Rescue for 4 years which is heavier version of the RIB jacket and can highly recommended it.
Picked up 26 Baltic rescue lifejackets today to send home with the ex RNLI Atlantic´s
ICE-SAR is phasing out the Crewsaver
Here is the spec for RESCUE

The Rescue Lifejackets have "snorkel" for adjustable buoyancy - there closer to the £450 - £500 mark....
I been told they are quite heavy to wear...but has not seen one close up.
The other solution is to buy a buoyancy suit/ jacket and they wear a lifejacket as well...
Baltic do nice floatation clothing too.

Ok - very comfortable for everyday use then?....I am in the market of new lifejacket.
Needs to be 275N ish, since I wear Dry Suit AND fits 6 ft 2 inch,150Kgs in weight! So serious thinking buying the RIB version....but still trying to get round wearing something that people can see, deflated....Black/Blue is my colour!

People should be able to see the RIB version at RIBex as the voluntary rescue team which will be on display will be wearing them.
I prefer bright colours on lifevests, have also old Musto which has yellow shield/cover

you could try williamsons of oldham ,they deal with surplus ex fire /search and rescue equipment and have a marine section ,last time i was over there couple of years back they had a load of various types of lifejackets /bouyancy jackets some never used ,,i was like a kid in willy wonkas chocolate factory looking at what they have in there.
