Opinions on Ravenglass

Recieved a voucher from the inlaws for a weekend on the Cumbria coast and was wondering if it's worth taking the boat. As far as I can see the nearest place to launch would be Ravenglass; any opinions? The voucher is for a place at Whitbeck on the A595.

Not sure about the boating in the area (only had my boat for 2 months and only been out once), but there is also a very good slip at Whitehaven harbour, about 35 mins north of Ravenglass. Its gated so no issues with tides. To be honest, plenty to do in the area for a weekend without a boat though. this a beautiful part of the world.

Thanks Phil. It doesn't look like the most interesting bit of coast ever from a boating POV. Might give it a pass and stick to the hills... and the Whisky Barn!
